The national contact point for intellectual property in open knowledge transfer

Unlocking the Value of Knowledge: the first ERA Symposium 2023

The ERA Symposium 2023 on "Unlocking the Value of Knowledge" brought together around 270 participants to engage in multi-faceted discussions on Open Science, Knowledge Valorisation and the related next steps in the Austrian National Action Plan for the ERA. Many thanks again for all the contributions to the first Austrian ERA Symposium!

We invite you to revisit the ERA Symposium 2023 event page for summaries of the discussions, presentation slides and a picture gallery. 

Please stay tuned for updates on the progress of the Austrian ERA initiatives on Open Science and Knowledge Valorisation and on opportunities to contribute to the further development of the Austrian National Action Plan for ERA as well as the next ERA Policy Agenda. In this context, the next ERA Stakeholder Forum is tentatively scheduled for March 2024 as a face to face event.

Furthermore, we are already looking forward to the next ERA Symposium in 2024 - first deliberations on the topic for this event have started.

As part of the event, the NCP-IP organised two World Cafes on the European Commission's two codes of practice on knowledge valorisation. The first round of discussions dealt with the Code of Practice on Asset Management and the second with standardisation. In lively discussions, a contribution was made to the national implementation of these two recommendations.

Data as goods worth protecting

We are already looking forward to welcoming you next year to the NCP-IP World IP Day Event 2023!

In an era of data management, new technical and digital business models will make data an even more valuable commodity. Just who does the data belong to and how can I utilise the data correctly in my business model? We are asking these questions and others in one morning with stimulus talks and a panel discussion. At the end there will also be the opportunity to network in person.

Welcome to the NCP-IP page

We are happy to welcome you to the national online contact point for intellectual property in the open transfer of knowledge. NCIP-IP contributes significantly in making the transfer of knowledge in Austria professional with the targeted reproduction of relevant knowledge and tools for intellectual property in the open transfer of knowledge. Above all, this occurs as a result of the provision of sample contracts Intellectual Property Agreement Guide, the support of fair, open innovation processes through the Open Innovation Toolbox as well as the reproduction of intelligence and relevant knowledge within the NCP-IP events.
